Georg Jensen Antique Art Nouveau Pendant Necklace
This Art Nouveau piece is part of the Vintage Georg Jensen Jewelry Collection. This is an exceptionally beautiful Georg Jensen necklace, which is rarely seen. The silver detailing is very feminine but not dainty. The texturing of the finish is elegant and so indicative of Georg Jensen's fine silver work.
This is a very old piece with the 826S Georg Jensen "Gi" mark, which indicates it was crafted between 1909 and 1920 when Denmark's silver standard was still 826 silver. According to Yale Press' book, "Georg Jensen Jewelry", which depicts this piece on page 213, it was designed by Georg Jensen in ca. 1912. This is a collector piece or, better yet, a piece for anyone who appreciates its true beauty.
